First of all, who and what is Skeptics in the Pub? Wikipedia says:
Skeptics in the Pub (abbreviated SITP) is an informal social event designed to promote fellowship and social networking among skeptics, critical-thinkers, freethinkers, rationalists and other like-minded individuals. It provides an opportunity for skeptics to talk, share ideas and have fun in a casual atmosphere, and discuss whatever topical issues come to mind, while promoting skepticism, science, and rationality.

Generally speaking, SitP events are monthly gatherings in pubs all over the world. Each group is run independently and there isn’t an overarching organisation that controls everything.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, pubs were shut down and gathering in groups was banned, or strongly discouraged, giving SitP groups very little to do. We didn’t like that one bit and decided to set up Skeptics in the Pub Online.
We’re a coalition of mostly UK SitP groups, but we have others helping out from all over the world.
It takes a lot of work to keep this show going every single week. We have dedicated roles for booking speakers, moderating Twitch chat, looking after social media, running the broadcasting tech and hosting the events on camera. There’s a lot of folk running these events!
If you want to learn more about us, check out our social media channels, speak to one of the moderators in the chat or drop us an email at contact@sitp.online, we’re a really friendly and welcoming bunch.
